Alyangula Golf Club
Groote Eylandt is easily accessible from Cairns, Darwin and Gove (Nhulunbuy) with various daily flights. The beachfront journey commences after the first hole where local golfers are treated to marine activity in Milner Bay including dolphins, stingrays, numerous schools of large pelagic fish sizing up their prey and even the odd saltwater crocodile.
The 9 hole, 18 tee course is kept in excellent condition all year round. The par 3 third 'signature hole' has one of the largest natural sandtraps in the world and a typical Alyangula green which is surrounded by tropical coconut palms.
