Bonney's Inn was built around 1830, the first brick building and the first legal hotel in Deloraine. Originally a coaching inn serving the early travellers in the north of Tasmania, it was built by John Bonney, the son of a convict.

Deloraine is "the base" for exploring the north of Tasmania, with many attractions to visit - trout fishing, bushwalking, caves, waterfalls, wildlife parks, Cradle Mountain, Western Tiers, the Great Lake and many historic and interesting buildings set in rolling green countryside. There is also a great variety of craftspeople in the local district who would be more than happy to demonstrate their crafts and sell their products. The route through Chudleigh, Mole Creek and the Bass Highway to Devonport will have you visit the Honey Farm, the Raspberry Farm, Ashgrove Cheese Factory and Anvers Chocolates, with Sheffield, the town of murals, on route to these delightful places.

Bonney's Inn overlooks the Meander River and is close to the shopping centre.
