Grampians Golf Course, Dunkeld, Victoria
Dunkeld, 250 Klms west of Melbourne, is the southern gateway to the Grampians National Park and is an excellent choice for a weekend golfing getaway. From the city you can travel by car along the Glenelg Highway or by one of the daily coach services. The Grampians Golf Club is located between Mount Abrupt and Mount Sturgeon on the Victoria Valley Road in Dunkeld. The 18 hole Par 70 course, in secluded bushland, is populated by kangaroos, wallabies and native birds, including visiting emus. Their annual tournament is in August. Dunkeld is the perfect location from which to take your own 'Grampians Golfing Challenge', playing each of the top golf courses in the region. 18 holes, Par 70, ACR 67, 5457 metres. Sand greens. Green fees under $20.00.

Other Local Activities
Hikers will enjoy walking tracks with panoramic views, and you can drive through the Southern Grampian National Park. Dunkeld has its own arboretum, and the town's history is recorded at the museum. There are orchards, vineyards, herb growing and olives in the region. Locally made cheeses and yoghurts are found at the Sheep Dairy along the highway.
