The Royal Hobart Golf Club
The forerunner of the Club dates back to 1896. The Hobart Golf Club was formed in 1901, first in the Sandy Bay area then on Hobart's Eastern Shore at Rosny. That course was opened in 1916, and the honour of the Royal Charter was conferred on the Club in 1925. In 1956 it was decided that the Club should move to the present site at Seven Mile Beach.
