Meghan MacLaren keeps lead as play is suspended

England’s Meghan MacLaren holds her position at the top of the leaderboard at the end of a suspended second day of the Australian Women’s Classic – Bonville.
The 27-year-old held the overnight lead having shot an opening 67 (-5) and she picked up where she left off having rolled in three birdies on her opening nine holes on day two.
However, the weather came into play at Bonville Golf Resort with rain falling for much of the day and at 15.21 local time, with MacLaren on the 11th green, play was suspended. Read more

Meghan MacLaren has good reason to wish more co-sanctioned Ladies European Tour events were played on the mid north coast of NSW.
A day after winning the pro-am, the Englishwoman grabbed a one-shot lead in the Australian Women's Classic by shooting a bogey-free five-under 67 at Bonville.
She led from Australia's fast-finishing Stephanie Bunque, Spain's Carmen Alonso and Amandeep Drall of India, who all carded 68s.
MacLaren's good start came four years after she won the first of her two NSW Women's Open titles at nearby Coffs Harbour GC.
