Macintyre, Hill & Bland share 7-under lead

Robert MacIntyre finished with two birdies to fire a 66 and join Richard Bland and Calum Hill at the top of the leaderboard after day two of the 2021 Betfred British Masters hosted by Danny Willett.

England's Bland had carded a 69 to stay bogey free for the week and sat atop the leaderboard at seven under for most of the day before the Scottish pair made their moves in the afternoon at The Belfry.

MacIntyre started his round with five birdies but then fell back as Hill produced a composed performance to leapfrog Bland into top spot.

But MacIntyre's big finish in a 66 had him alongside Bland before Hill bogeyed the last in a 70.  Read more

Robert MacIntyre justified his position as pre-tournament favourite by claiming a share of the halfway lead in the British Masters at The Belfry.

The 24-year-old Scot shot a second-round 66 to finish on seven under par along with compatriot Calum Hill (70) and English veteran Richard Bland (69).

MacIntyre birdied the first four holes on his way to his six-under-par round.  Read more

Australia's Min Woo Lee also enjoyed a fine afternoon in Thursday's second round, shooting a five-under par 67 to claw back into the hunt.

Scotland's MacIntyre produced golf which would not have looked out of place on his beloved PlayStation as he birdied the first five holes of his second round at The Belfry on his way to a superb second round of 66.  Read more

Robert MacIntyre’s shouting playing Call of Duty on the Playstation late on Wednesday may have annoyed the neighbours but he came roaring out of the blocks at the Betfred British Masters.

The Scot birdied the first five holes, negotiated a couple of mid-round crises and then birdied the last two for a six-under 66.
