First Ever Scandinavian Mixed, European Tour & LET: History is Made on Day One

11-Jun-2021

Scandinavian Mixed, Hosted by Henrik & Annika, Vallda GC, Sweden: 10-13 June 2021

Scandinavian Mixed, background & formation:

In 1991 the Scandinavian Masters was launched as an annual golf tournament on the European Tour, hosted by the Vallda G&CC in Gothenberg. It was held each year under different sponsors and with certain name alterations (from 2011-18 it was known as the Nordea Masters).  English golfer Lee Westwood won the tournament three times, while Australian Adam Scott won here in 2003.

In 2020 the Ladies European Tour co-sanctioned the tournament and it became the Scandinavian Mixed. Both men and women golfers will compete in the one tournament, each from their own respective set of tees.

From Golf News Net:

The Scandinavian Mixed field is 156 players, with 78 players from the European Tour and 78 players from the Ladies European Tour. The players are paired together, competing in the same field, at the same time at Vallda Golf & Country Club in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The Scandinavian Mixed format is a 72-hole event. For the first two rounds, the players will go off in threesomes, mixing men and women as either one man and two women or two women and one man in the groups.  Read more
