Fort Worth Invitational - Round One - Kevin Na Leads

With no bogeys, six birdies and an eagle Kevin Na's 8-under 62 ties the lowest first-round score in this tournament's history. It was last hit in 2013 by Ryan Palmer. Na has led, or shared the first-round lead, six times in his career. Three of those times when he shared the lead were here at The Colonial. Now he is sole leader.

When Na arrived at the 9th hole at The Colonial, the last hole of his first round, he had to hit a 40 yard cut from the rough over water. His caddie, Kenny Harms, tried to persuade him not to use a hybrid for that shot. Na decided to go with his first choice anyway, even though a successful hit was clearly a long shot. Na's decision paid off, with a spectacular 90 foot chip for birdie that gave him the lead.

One stroke behind him is Charley Hoffman, who's bogey-free round included seven birdies. Tied third on 6-under are Emiliano Grillo, Beau Hossler, Andrew Putnam and Jhonattan Vegas.
