What is the FedEx Cup?

It is a season-long race during which points are awarded based on results at PGA Tour events. The playoffs are a three-tournament series culminating with this week's Tour Championship, which decides the FedEx Cup winner.

How does the format work?

The FedEx Cup leader starts the Tour Championship with a 10-under-par score, two strokes ahead of second place. Scores regress down the 30-player leaderboard until 26th through 30th start at even par. From there, winner of the event wins the play-offs series.

Where is it?

The Tour Championship is held at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia

How much bonus money is paid?

The FedEx Cup winner pockets $US15 million, second place receives $US5 million and the pool is shared incrementally with 30th place banking $US395,000.

Where are the Australians positioned?

Adam Scott (13th) starts at three under and Marc Leishman (21st) at one under.
