Moriya Jutanugarn Wins Hugel-JTBC LA Open

LPGA Inaugural Hugel-JTBC LA Open - Moriya Jutanugarn Win

Moriya Juatanugarn's win at the HUGEL-JTBC LA Open shows that in the game of golf, steady determination and perseverance eventually win through. Six years after she joined the LPGA Tour and after 156 starts, her time is now.

Moriya has seen her sister Ariya win many tournaments, including the 2016 Women's British Open. Now Moriya is making history. As a first-time winner she has taken out the inaugural LA Open. She is the third first-time winner for the 2018 season and the first player from Thailand to win in 2018. She is the second golfer from Thailand to win on the PGA Tour, joining Ariya, and the two together are only the second pair of sisters to win on the PGA Tour, the others being the Swedish sisters Annika and Charlotta Sorenstam.

Moriya Jutanugarn's 3-under par 68 final round gave her the tournament title with 12-under 272. Two strokes behind her on 10-under are Jin Young Ko and Inbee Park, both from South Korea. Jutanugarn appeared very calm and steady throughout her game.

Afterwards, she said,  “I’ve been really close for a lot of times, and of course that builds confidence as well. To win, it's just like I kind of break through a lot of things that I been kind of get stuck, and it just feels great.”
