LOS ANGELES (AP) — Nasa Hataoka ran away with DIO Implant LA Open on Sunday at Wilshire Country Club to open the LPGA Tour's two-week run in the Los Angeles area.
Four strokes ahead entering the round after Jin Young Ko's late meltdown Saturday, Hataoka closed with a 4-under 67 for a five-stroke victory over Hannah Green...

Hannah Green has had her best finish on the LPGA Tour in 12 months by wrapping up second place at the LA Open behind runaway winner Nasa Hataoka.
Green's fellow West Australian Minjee Lee shared third at Wilshire Country Club.
Trailing final-round playing partner Hataoka by four shots at the start of play on Sunday, Green was unable to get any closer despite three front nine birdies and another on the 15th. Read more

Nasa Hataoka's parents named her after the U.S. space agency so she would “reach for the stars.”
Given her meteoric rise in golf, it’s fitting.
Hataoka was 17 years old when she earned her first Japan Women’s Open title. During her LPGA Tour debut season in 2017, though, Hataoka made the cut just nine times in 17 events. The rocky takeoff didn’t last long. She had five top-10 finishes in 2019 and has represented Japan in the Olympics. Read more

(AFP) - Nasa Hataoka fired an eagle and four birdies in a four-under 67 on Sunday (April 24) to notch her sixth career LPGA title at the LA Open.
The Japanese, who led by four entering the final round, finished with a 15-under total of 269.
That was one shot off the tournament record set by Canadian Brooke Henderson last year and gave her a five-stroke triumph over Australian Hannah Green, who carded a closing 68 for 274. Read more
