Ready for Fort Worth Final, Rose Extends Lead to 4 Shots

Heading into Fort Worth Final, Justin Rose Leads by Four Shots

Justin Rose starts the final round of the 2018 Fort Worth Invitational four strokes ahead of Brooks Koepka and Emiliano Grillo. Rose's strong, steady rounds of 66, 64, 66 have brought him a 14-under total and the strongest 54 hole lead at the Colonial in more than a decade. This has not made him complacent, however.

"It is a big lead, but it isn't big enough to be counting the holes away," he said. "You've got to continue to make birdies and keep going forward."

"I feel like I've seen everything from my game this week," he added. "Everything has been there, or thereabouts, for me, which gives me confidence going into tomorrow. Quite often there is one aspect of the game that doesn't always feel good and you need something to back it up. I feel like everything this week has been working at some point."

Grillo is not conceding anything about Sunday's game.

"Well, he's in the lead on a Sunday," Grillo said. "Doesn't matter where you're playing. He's got to go out and shoot under par. He's got 50 guys behind him trying to reach him, and I'm one of those. I've just got to go out and do what he did today on those first five, six holes."

Rose, presently No. 5 in world ranking, birdied his first three holes and kept on swinging. The hot, humid Texas weather got to the Englishman somewhat, and may have been a factor in his bogey at the par-3 16th.

"I struggled toward the end," he said. "It was so hot out there I really felt I was battling the golf course and my concentration.

"It was tough to finish it off in that heat today but all in all, happy to be in the clubhouse. A good day's work."
