DeChambeau's 3,000 klm round flight, between rounds

Bryson DeChambeau shot 68 in the third round of the Wells Fargo Championship on Saturday morning, briefly getting to within three of the lead.

Not 24 hours earlier he was on a plane to Dallas, headed home after missing the cut. (Not!)

What happened in between those two events was a madcap misadventure that left him short of sleep. When it was over and DeChambeau had made a double bogey on 18 and shot 68 that got him to 1 under total, it was left to a caddie to perfectly sum up what had happened...  Read more

 Bryson DeChambeau had an early wake-up alarm set for Saturday morning. Very early. Even by the standards of an 8:10 a.m. tee time.

That's because DeChambeau began the day in Dallas -- where he went Friday afternoon after believing he had missed the 36-hole cut at the Wells Fargo Championship.

DeChambeau returned in the wee hours Saturday morning via a private jet, had less than an hour to get ready for the third round at Quail Hollow Golf Club and shot a 3-under-par 68, which included a double bogey on the final hole.  Read more

Bryson DeChambeau took quite the journey to make it to his tee time at the Wells Fargo Championship on Saturday morning. After struggling at the event Friday, DeChambeau figured he wouldn't make the cut and flew home.

That proved to be a mistake. DeChambeau actually did make the cut, and had to turn around almost immediately so he could make his 8 a.m. tee time.  Read more
