Woods & Rose a Shot from Lead at Valspar

Valspar Championship 2018 is Entering the Final Round

Tiger Woods is now one shot from the lead as the Valspar Championship enters its final round. He ended the round on 4-under-par 67 and is tied second with Brandt Snedeker and Justin Rose. Corey Conners still leads after ending on 68, with a total of 9-under 204.

Surprisingly for some, Woods response is not one of wanting to win outright but rather to just stay close to the lead, at this time.

“It feels good to be up here,” he said. “I’ve been in this position many times. I’ve won my share of events here and overseas and so I like to be one back or near the lead. I just need to execute."

He added,  “I feel like I’m playing a bit better and cleaner. I made a few tweaks overnight which I didn’t like about yesterday.”

He said that while there are a number of real contenders for the title tomorrow, he himself is content to simply be among them.

“I know it’s packed up there but at least I got a shot.”

Justin Rose  now also has a very real shot at the trophy. His 120 yard eagle on the par-5 eleventh hole ties him with Woods as they prepare themselves for the final round.
