Zurich Classic 2018 - New Orleans

The Zurich Classic of New Orleans has been running for 80 years, since 1938 when it was the Crescent City Open and then as the New Orleans Open. It is organized by the Fore!Kids Foundation and is always held in Avondale. Since 2005 Zurich Insurance has been the main sponsor and TPC Louisiana the host club, though Hurricane Katrina caused a one year change of venue.

In 2017 the tournament became a team event with 80 teams of two. Team winners were Australian Cameron Smith and his Swedish team partner Jonas Blixt. They beat Americans Kevin Kisner and Scott Brown in a fourth playoff on the Monday, after darkness suspended play on Sunday.

Now in 2018 the Zurich Classic format has switched to fourball for the first and third rounds and alternate shot for the second and fourth. By the end of the second round (Highlights video below) Michael Kim and Andrew Putnam take sole lead over Kevin Kisner and Scott Brown after carding a 13-under 69.
