Day Two: Amanda Doherty leads into weekend

The final two rounds of the ISPS HANDA World Invitational will be played at Galgorm Castle Golf Club, with the top 60 and ties from the men’s and women’s competition playing on Saturday. There will be a further cut to the leading 30 players and ties from both tournaments for the final round on Sunday. Tee times will alternate between male and female groups on both days.

In the women’s event, American Amanda Dougherty remains one stroke ahead with her second consecutive round of 67. She is one stroke ahead of compatriot Lauren Coughlin and five-time Ladies European Tour winner and Solheim Cup player Emily Kristine Pedersen.  Read more

The surprise early leader of the ISPS Handa World Invitational presented by Aviv Clinics is a 24-year-old from Atlanta who has always carved her own path in life. Doherty followed up her first round 67 at Galgore Castle with another 67 at Massereene Golf Club on Friday to enter the weekend at 11 under, a number that guarantees her a late Saturday start, a first for the 2022 LPGA Tour rookie.  Read more

Amanda Doherty continued her impressive form at the ISPS Handa World Invitational presented by Aviv Clinics firing a round of 67 (-5) to lead by one shot at the midway mark.

After a first round of six-under at Galgorm Castle, the 24-year-old followed it up with a round of a round of five-under at Massereene.

Doherty began her round with back-to-back birdies on the second and third holes, and rolled in three more on six, seven and nine to make the turn in 31 (-5).

Despite a dropped shot on the 11th, the LPGA Tour rookie made another birdie on 13 to finish with a total of 11-under-par after 36 holes.  Read more
