Ashleigh Buhai will head into the final day of the AIG Women’s Open with a five-shot lead after seizing control of the Championship with a truly magnificent performance on Saturday.
Strong winds were expected to cause major problems for the later starters in round three, but Buhai cashed in before the gusts intensified – following up her front-nine 30 on Friday by turning in 31 this time around.
As conditions became tougher, Buhai simply raised her level still further, picking up another shot at the 10th and then becoming only the second player all day to birdie the 14th, following a majestic second shot. Read more

With 18 holes remaining at the 2022 AIG Women’s Open at Muirfield, South Africa’s Ashleigh Buhai is threatening to run away with her first major title.
The 33-year-old, making her 221st career LPGA Tour start, carded a 7-under 64 in Saturday’s third round to reach -14 overall and tie the major’s 54-hole scoring record at 199. She carries a five-stroke lead over Hinako Shibuno and In Gee Chun into Sunday’s final round, searching for the first victory of her LPGA Tour career. Read more

South Africa’s Ashleigh Buhai fired an exceptional course record of 64 (-7) in windy conditions to lead by five shots at the end of day three of the AIG Women’s Open.
The three-time LET winner, who sat in second place overnight after carding a 65, picked up where she left off yesterday with five birdies on her front nine including four in-a-row on holes four through seven.
Buhai continued her fantastic play rolling in birdies on 10 and 14 before chipping in on the 17th for her eighth birdie of the day. Read more
