AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am 2018 - Round One

Kevin Streelman and Beau Hossler are tied for the lead after the first round of this year's Pebble Beach Pro Am, each on 7-under-par 65. Tying for third on 6-under are Matt Kuchar, Aaron Wise and Julian Suri.

Streelman and Hossler each shot seven birdies, Streelman on Spyglass Hill.  22 year old Hossler, who is on his first PGA Tour, made an impressive 54 ft putt birdying the par-4 16th on Pebble Beach course.

Rory McIlroy had partnered for the pro-am with his father Gerry. This year is his debut at the AT&T Pebble Beach. He hit five birdies and and one bogey by the 15th hole of Spyglass Hill.  On the 16th, a long shot morphed into another bogey.  A birdie on the 18th brought him back to the 4-unders, where Jon Rahm and Shane Lowry are also positioned.

Jason Day and Phil Mickelson were also among those who shot at least 3-under during round one. Defending champ Jordan Spieth, however, needed 32 putts to get through his first round. Before the game began, Spieth had said he was in something of a "slump" with his greens.  He shot just one birdie putt and ended round one tied at 98th, before heading into his second round.

Dustin Johnson and Patrick Cantlay are among the group tying for 6th, at 5-under.
