Day Three: Scottie Scheffler and Matt Fitzpatrick share the lead into the final round at Olympia Fields

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. -- Scottie Scheffler made a few short birdie putts at the start and then kept making a lot more Saturday on his way to a 6-under 64 that gave him a share of the lead with Matt Fitzpatrick in a BMW Championship that is wide open.
Fitzpatrick had a 66, falling into a tie on the 18th when he went from the bunker to the rough, punched out under a tree to the collar of the green and had to make a 5-foot bogey putt to at least get into the final group. Read more

Scheffler charged up the leaderboard with seven birdies and a lone bogey in a third-round 64, as Matt Fitzpatrick held the outright advantage at Olympia Fields Country Club until he closed a four-under 66 with a bogey. Read more

Top-ranked Scottie Scheffler and 2022 US Open champion Matthew Fitzpatrick each reeled off three consecutive back-nine birdies to share the lead after Saturday's third round of the PGA Tour's BMW Championship.
US star Scheffler made seven birdies against a lone bogey to shoot a six-under par 64 while England's Fitzpatrick had five birdies before a closing bogey to shoot 66 at Olympia Fields in suburban Chicago.
That left them on 11-under 199 after 54 holes in the penultimate FedEx Cup playoff event, where the top 30 in season points advance to next week's Tour Championship in Atlanta. Read more
