It has not been the easiest of times for Kiradech Aphibarnrat since injuring his knee at the 2019 Masters Tournament, with no top tens on the European Tour and a broken schedule due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He did not play competitively anywhere in the world for 24 weeks in 2020 and missed 11 of his first 15 cuts worldwide in 2021. So it was all the more enjoyable to see the likeable Thai make seven birdies in eight holes after the turn on Thursday to sign for a 64 and lead the way...
Major Champions Adam Scott and Justin Rose both enjoyed having familiar faces on the bag as they enjoyed bright starts on day one. Scott had coach and brother-in-law Brad Malone on the bag and their partnership produced results, with the Australian carding a seven under par 65. Read more
The British PGA Championship, as it was originally known, held at the Wentworth Club in Surrey, is the European Tour's "Premier event" for Official World Golf Rankings. The winner is given exemption into the US Open and the next three Open Championships.
