Brooks Koepka's Shoe Shot - The Ruling

At the Farmers Insurance Open 2021:

During the second round Brooks Koepka was playing on the North Course at Torrey Pines.

On the par-4 16th hole he smashed the ball into a cameraman's shoe, in the back of a parked cart.

Since Koepka’s ball came to rest in an immovable obstruction, he was entitled to a free drop within one club length of the reference point.

Although that was the case, he was NOT keen on retrieving the ball from its resting place.

“I ain’t sticking my hand in there,” Koepka said. “You can grab it out of your nasty-a** shoe.”
