Callum Shinkwin secures 2022 Cazoo Open title

Callum Shinkwin strolled to a stunning four-shot victory at the 2022 Cazoo Open supported by Gareth Bale to claim his second DP World Tour title in style.

The 29-year-old carded six birdies and five bogeys on Sunday to reach 12 under par for the tournament and continue his love affair with The Celtic Manor Resort, where he has finished first, fourth and joint-eighth in his last three visits.  Read more

Callum Shinkwin secured his second DP World Tour title after easing to an impressive four-stroke victory at the Cazoo Open supported by Gareth Bale at Celtic Manor.

Shinkwin came through a final-round tussle with playing partners Julien Guerrier and Connor Syme to mix six birdies with five bogeys and post a one-under 70, seeing him end the week on 12 under.

The world No 304's closest challenge came from Syme, who carded a three-under 68, while Guerrier slipped back into a five-way tie for fifth place on five under after struggling to a final-round 76.  Read more

Beginning the final day of the Cazoo Open, it was setup for a tense 18 holes, with Callum Shinkwin holding a one shot lead over Frenchman, Julien Guerrier, who was still looking for a first DP World Tour title.

What transpired was a tight opening few holes, with Shinkwin's lead evaporating over the first two. However, just three holes later, the Englishman remarkably found himself five shots clear as back-to-birdies from Shinkwin were maximised by Guerrier making a trio of bogeys!  Read more

The Englishman finished clear of Connor Syme from Scotland to claim his second career DP World Tour title.

Shinkwin, 29, who began the day one shot ahead of France's Julien Guerrier, carded six birdies and five bogeys on Sunday for a final round 70.  Read more
