Day Two: Paul Waring keeps two shot lead through troublesome wind changes

Paul Waring held his lead at the Cazoo Classic by adding a round of 70 to his opening 63 as players struggled with the wind during day two at Hillside.
The 37-year-old from Birkenhead had made the most of local knowledge to lead after shooting a nine under par round on day one at Southport.
The going was tougher on day two but Waring, who started from the tenth tee, was two under par for the day after five birdies and three bogeys. Read more

Paul Waring retained his two-shot lead at the Cazoo Classic on the European tour by shooting 2-under 70 in the second round on Friday.
Grant Forrest, Jens Dantorp and Julien Guerrier all shot 69 and were Waring's nearest challengers at Hillside near Liverpool in northwest England.
Daan Luizing (68) was alone in fifth place a further shot back.
Waring, who shot 63 on Thursday, was one over for his round after 10 holes as he struggled with a different wind direction but birdied three of his last eight holes. Read more

Paul Waring maintained his grip at the top of the Cazoo Classic leaderboard, closing out round two with a two-stroke lead in Southport.
The Englishman, who tied the course record with a nine-under 63 in round one, carded 70 on a second day of play that saw the entire field challenged by a dramatic shift in wind direction at Hillside.
Waring opened his afternoon with a bogey on the 10th which he quickly balanced out with a birdie from six feet on the par-four 12th, one of five on the day for the Wirral native who also bogeyed twice more before finishing the day on 11 under par for the tournament. Read more
