It’s been 2 years and 6 months since Jin Young Ko won the 2019 Cognizant Founders Cup, an extra-long title defense due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But 928 days later and the outcome is exactly the same. Ko, No. 2 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, tied her season-low round of 8-under 63 in the first round of the 2021 Cognizant Founders Cup, being played for the first time at Mountain Ridge Country Club in West Caldwell, N.J.  Read more

Jin Young Ko grabbed the Cognizant Founders Cup lead after firing an 8-under 63. It also put her one step closer to making history. 

The 26-year-old South Korean has recorded 11 straight rounds in the 60s. That's three rounds shy of the tour's all-time record, set by Annika Sorenstam in 2005, it was noted by statistician Justin Ray on Twitter.  Read more

Jin Young Ko put a tough loss behind her quickly and ran off six birdies over a seven-hole stretch on the back nine for an 8-under 63 on Thursday to build a three-shot lead in the Cognizant Founders Cup, while Canada's Brooke Henderson sat four strokes back after the opening round.

It was Ko's 11th consecutive round in the 60s, three short of the record that Annika Sorenstam set in 2005.

Sandra Gal had a 66 despite not making birdie on any of the par 5s at Mountain Ridge.  Read more
