Ricardo Gouveia birdied two of his last three holes to leapfrog long-time leader Li Haotong and take a one-shot lead into the weekend at the 2022 Dutch Open.
Li had played nine holes in just 29 blows for the second time this season as he carded a brilliant 63 to set the target at nine under at Bernardus Golf.
It seemed for a long time that the Chinese would lead the way after 36 holes but Gouveia made a move with an eagle on the 12th and then produced his big finish to get to double figures after a 66.
Englishman Matt Wallace was at eight under after a 67 alongside Pole Adrian Meronk, who carded a 68. Read more

England’s Matt Wallace credited the power of positive thinking as he moved into contention for a first victory since 2018 in the Dutch Open.
A second round of 67 at Bernardus Golf gave Wallace a halfway total of eight under par and left him two shots behind Portugal’s Ricardo Gouveia, whose 66 late in the day saw him take a one-shot lead over China’s Li Haotong.
Wallace came into the week having missed the cut in eight of his last nine starts and without a win since making an impressive – if ultimately unsuccessful – case for a Ryder Cup wild card in 2018 with three victories in 15 events. Read more
