England’s Liz Young fired a final round of 69 (-3) at the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open to secure her first victory on the Ladies European Tour (LET).
The second round was completed early on Saturday morning with the Englishwoman holding a one-shot lead heading into the final round.
Despite a bogey on the first, Young bounced back with birdies on the third and seventh holes to put her firmly in contention before she got a stroke of luck on the 10th to save par. Read more

Linn Grant overtakes Maja Stark to lead 2022 Race to Costa del Sol after a runner-up finish; Liz Young carded a three-under 69 on the final day in Switzerland to finish on 12 under and claim her first LET victory.
Liz Young claimed a long-awaited maiden Ladies European Tour title in her 14th season after holding on for a one-shot victory at the VP Bank Swiss Open.
The Englishwoman, taking a one-shot lead into the final round at Golfpark Holzhausern, mixed four birdies with a lone bogey to post a three-under 69 and stay a shot clear of four-time LET winner Linn Grant. Read more

Young, the overnight leader, recovered from a bogey on the first to re-establish her credentials with birdies on the third and seventh. After narrowly avoiding going out of bounds and saving par on the 10th, she then took a two-stroke lead with further birdies at the 11th and 14th.
Grant made a late charge with three successive birdies from the 15th to 17th but pars on the last four holes proved enough for Young to hold on.
Young, who is in her 14th season on tour, said: “I can’t believe it right now. I’ve been out here a while and haven’t had the win yet, so to do it here in Switzerland is just fantastic." Read more
