Jorge Campillo leads by a single shot at the halfway stage of the 2022 Horizon Irish Open after enjoying the best of the weather at Mount Juliet Estate on Friday.
Morning starter Campillo made six birdies and two bogeys in his first 15 holes before the conditions worsened, and despite the heavy rain, he managed to complete his second-round 68 with three straight pars to enter the clubhouse on 11 under par. Read more

Seamus Power posted a second consecutive 68 at the Horizon Irish Open to put himself right in the mix at the halfway point while Shane Lowry battled hard to ensure that he will be present for the weekend rounds at Mount Juliet.

Spain’s Jorge Campillo set the pace at the halfway stage of the Horizon Irish Open as home favourite Shane Lowry staged a grandstand finish to make the cut at Mount Juliet.
Lowry looked set for an early exit until he birdied his last four holes for a second round of 70, the former Open champion rounding off a brilliant fightback by holing from 20 feet on the 18th to the delight of the large crowds.
Playing partner Seamus Power leads the Irish charge into the weekend, and also birdied the last in a second consecutive 68 to leave him eight under par, three behind leader Campillo. Read more

Spain's Jorge Campillo fired a second-round 68 at the Irish Open to lead Adrian Meronk and Fabrizio Zanotti by one stroke at Mount Juliet. Campillo, who carded six birdies and two bogeys, lies 11 under at the Co Kilkenny course.
Seven players are three shots back including Ireland's Seamus Power while Padraig Harrington and Shane Lowry are on three under. Overnight leader Ryan Fox dropped back to seven under after a 73. Read more
The first Irish Open was held in 1927. The tournament is an Open Qualifying event. Mount Juliet Estate golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus and set over 180 acres, has been named "Ireland’s Best Parkland Golf Course" by the Golfer’s Guide to Ireland.
