Jordan Spieth on Day Two in Scotland: His own lively commentary, and a clear "No" to LIV Golf

DP World Tour 2022, Genesis Scottish Open, The Renaissance Club, Scotland: 7-10 July

Lively commentary from Jordan Spieth on Day Two in Scotland, and his clear "No" to LIV Golf

DP World Tour:  Jordan Spieth was one of a number of afternoon starters who battled blustery conditions as he reached the halfway stage of the 2022 Genesis Scottish Open at level par. He's currently T20.

From The Big Lead, by Kyle Koster:

Jordan Spieth will take you on a journey each and every time he tees off. Sometimes it is a pleasant one and other times it feels like the demented river boat ride Willy Wonka cooked up. Through it all, though, one thing remains constant: Spieth's running commentary of everything that's going on out on the course and inside his head.

He stepped onto the box on the par-three No. 3 at the Genesis Scottish Open three strokes under par and playing quite well. Uneven wind gusts were cause for concern and presented an opportunity for dialog with caddie Michael Greller. Greller liked the club in Spieth's hand far more than the golfer did and convinced him to swing it.

In the latest of a series of hilarious back and forths between him and caddie Michael Greller, Spieth trusted his looper’s number on the par-3 9th before instantly disapproving of the result.  Read more

From The 42.ie:

'I am NOT in discussions with LIV. Those who truly know me, know what is important to me.'

THREE-TIME major winner Jordan Spieth has dismissed rumours that he was considering joining LIV Golf as “categorically untrue”.

While the likes of Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Reed and Brooks Koepka have signed up with the Saudi-backed circuit, Spieth reiterated that he is committed to the PGA Tour and attempting to win more major titles.

In a post on his official Twitter account, the 28-year-old wrote: “Because of false reporting today, I feel the need to comment.

“Let me be clear, any reports that I am contemplating competing anywhere other than the PGA Tour are categorically untrue."  Read more
