England's Ross McGowan leads by one in Denmark

Ross McGowan swooped late in the day to take a one-shot lead after the opening round of the 2022 Made in HimmerLand.
The Englishman started his round at the tenth, got off to a flyer with an opening birdie and five more followed before he leapt into pole position by chipping in for eagle at the par-five eighth and tapping in for birdie on his final hole.
That blistering finish allowed him to sign for a nine-under-par 62...
Five players had been tied for the lead before McGowan's move after a day of incredible scoring in Denmark. Read more

England's Ross McGowan carded a bogey-free, 9-under 62 to lead by one stroke after the first round of Made in HimmerLand in Denmark on Thursday.
Among the late starters, McGowan chipped in for eagle at No. 8 --- his next-to-last hole -- and tapped in for birdie at the par-4 No. 9 to overtake a group of five players already in the clubhouse on 8 under...
Ewan Ferguson [among those one shot back] is looking for his third title of the season, after victories in Qatar in March and Northern Ireland last month, and made an eagle 2 at his first hole before following that up with six birdies in another bogey-free round. Read more

The Made in Himmerland started life as the Made in Denmark in 2014 though all but one of the seven events has been played at the Himmerland Resort after which the tournament is now named.
Crowds flock to the 16th of the New Course, a 120 metre, uphill par-3 surrounded by an enormous amphitheatre and always one of the liveliest places on the property. Read more
