Nasa Hataoka makes four straight birdies on the back nine to stay in front

A day after making six straight birdies in an opening 10-under 61, the 22-year-old Japanese player had four in a row on Nos. 14-17 to salvage a 69.
"My shots were not as good as yesterday," Hataoka said. "Didn't have that many chances. I had a lot of problems, but I was able to fix that for the last part and bring it back up."
Her lead was cut from four to two strokes, with American Mina Harigae second after her second straight bogey-free 66. Read more

Nasa Hataoka opened her week at the Marathon LPGA Classic with a blistering 61, and after posting a 2-under 69 on Friday, she takes a two-shot lead into the weekend at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio.
It was slow going in her second round. She bogeyed her opening hole, and when she later bogeyed the 13th, she found herself 2 over for the day. But she got things going with four straight birdies on Nos. 14, 15, 16 and 17 before closing with a par.
Hataoka is the winner of three events on the LPGA, most recently the 2019 Kia Classic. In June, Hataoka lost in a playoff to Yuka Saso at the Olympic Club in the U.S. Women’s Open. Read more

Japanese star Nasa Hataoka drained four straight birdies on the back nine en route to a 69 to maintain a two-shot lead after the second round of the LPGA Tour's Marathon Classic on Friday.
After opening with a sizzling 10-under 61, Hataoka delivered a more mixed round on Friday with six birdies and four bogeys to get to 12-under overall at the Highland Meadows Golf Club in Ohio. She missed five greens after hitting all 18 on Thursday...
The 22-year-old Hataoka roared to the finish with four consecutive birdies beginning on the par-three 14th to get to two under on the day. Read more
