Amateur golfer Momoka Kobori made history in New Zealand last weekend as the first female winner of a NZ PGA Mixed Field event. She finished 8-under par in a tie for the win with Harry Bateman, at the 36-hole Whitford Park Pro Am in Auckland.  European Tour player Ryan Fox was among the group two strokes from the lead in the 50 player event.

Momoka has two more NZ Pro-Ams ahead of her before the end of January, then next month she will begin a three year coaching course at a North Canterbury golf club.  She has a degree in Sports Medicine and hopes one day to play on the LPGA Tour.
