Perseverance finally pays off for Englishman Oliver Wilson, winning Denmark's 2022 Made in Himmerland

Oliver Wilson holed two enormous birdie putts on the back nine on Sunday to win the 2022 Made in HimmerLand by one shot and claim his second DP World Tour title almost eight years after winning his first.
Ewen Ferguson had looked on course to secure his third victory of the season after shooting a closing 66 to set the clubhouse target at 20 under par.
But Wilson, playing in the final group, finished with a flourish in Farsø, holing from 66 feet at the 13th, 14 feet on the 16th and 64 feet at the 17th to leapfrog the Scot and take a one-shot lead to the 18th tee. Read more

England's Oliver Wilson holed two birdie putts from around 65 feet on the back nine to win the Made in HimmerLand event and end a victory drought of almost eight years on Sunday.
Wilson, ranked No. 745, rolled in the long putts on No. 13 and then on No. 17 to take the outright lead. He held his nerve to par the last hole, hitting his drive off a small mound of turf instead of a tee, to close with a 4-under 67 and finish a shot ahead of Ewen Ferguson of Scotland. Read more

England's Oliver Wilson has won his first DP World Tour event in almost eight years with a one-shot victory at Denmark's Made in HimmerLand.
Wilson, 41, holed two huge birdies on the back nine to finish on 21 under, ahead of Scotland's Ewen Ferguson.
He putted from 66ft on the par-three 13th and from 64ft on the par-four 17th to card a four-under 67.
"Everything I've done to this point to rebuild my game, I knew I could do it," said a tearful world number 745. Read more

Oliver Wilson’s remarkable winning return after an eight-year drought might just be the feelgood story for which the DP World Tour has been praying.
