Cañizares one in front after electric storm halts play for three hours

Alejandro Cañizares will take a one-shot lead into the third round of the weather-affected 2022 Omega European Masters after adding two more birdies on Saturday morning to sign for a second-round 63.

Almost three hours were lost on Friday after play was suspended at 13.09 local time at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club due to electrical activity in the area, meaning many of the afternoon starters had to come back early on Saturday to finish off their second rounds...

When play resumed at 07.40 on Saturday morning Cañizares, who had started his second round from the tenth tee, made birdies at the seventh and ninth to jump to 15 under.  Read more
