PGA TOUR, CJ Cup 2021, 14-17 Oct: Cameron Smith is back in the field

PGA TOUR 2021, CJ Cup @ Summit, The Summit Club, Las Vegas: 14-17 October

Cam Smith is back for the CJ Cup

Cameron Smith is back and firing again after a five week break to spend time with his dad, who flew over to visit in early September.  See Cam's Gone Fishing.

The CJ Cup was launched in 2017 at the Nine Bridges Golf Club, Jeju Island, South Korea. Marc Leishman was in the final playoff that year, against Justin Thomas who won the tournament. The CJ Cup continued to be held there for the next two seasons before Covid pandemic travel restrictions resulted in a move to Shadow Creek near Las Vegas. In 2021 the CJ Cup is again in wider Las Vegas, this time at The Summit Club in Summerlin.

From the PGA TOUR, The First Look, Adam Stanley:

There will be plenty of star power this week as THE CJ CUP @ SUMMIT will welcome a handful of Ryder Cup stars to the limited field.

The Summit Club – another of Las Vegas’ top-tier tracks – will host after last year’s event at Shadow Creek.

Jason Kokrak, who captured his first TOUR title in nine years in 2020, then went on to win again later last season, returns to defend.

The Course: The Summit Club, par 72, 7,431 yards. Designed by Tom Fazio, the layout is nestled between the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and the Las Vegas Strip. Golfers get an unobstructed view of the Strip from the tee on No. 6  Read more

Defending Champion: Jason Kokrak, US

Aussies in the Field:  Cam Smith, Marc Leishman, Adam Scott, Jason Day, Cam Davis, Matt Jones
