Former champion Jordan Smith carded an impressive 68 on a tough day at Green Eagle Golf Courses to take a two-shot lead into the weekend at the 2022 Porsche European Open.
For much of the day it looked like the lead would move backwards as the lengthy layout bared its teeth in Hamburg, with under-par scores at a premium.
But Smith recovered from an early bogey to post five birdies that moved him to six under, two shots clear of last week's winner Victor Perez. Read more

On the second day of the Porsche European Open, English professional golfer Jordan Smith took the lead at the tournament in Winsen an der Luhe, Lower Saxony.
The 2017 winner played a strong round of 68 on the Green Eagle course just outside Hamburg and was ahead of Frenchman Victor Perez (140) with a total of 138 strokes...
Englishman Tommy Fleetwood and Ryder Cup captain Henrik Stenson from Sweden also qualified for the two decisive rounds of the weekend. Read more
