PGA TOUR 2022, RBC Canadian Open, St Georges Golf Course, Toronto, CA: 9-12 June
The RBC Canadian Open finally returns after two long years of pandemic delays. Rory McIlroy won this tournament in 2019, then at Hamilton G&CC. His seven stroke winning margin, over Shane Lowry and Webb Simpson, seems to have been the widest since the 1950s. McIlroy holds the 72-hole record of 258. [As a footnote to history, Charlie Sifford, who was honoured last week at the Memorial Tournament, attended the 1962 Canadian Open in part to raise the profile of African-American players on the PGA Tour.]
