From Shane Ryan at Golf Digest:

—Before the Safeway Open last fall, Stewart Cink hadn't won since 2009.

—Before he "bludgeoned" (his words) the Harbour Town Golf Links the last two days to the tune of 63-63 (16 under), the previous 36-hole record here was held by Jack Nicklaus (1975) and Phil Mickelson ('02), who were three shots worse than Cink in 2021.

—The cumulative 126 is the best 36-hole total of Cink's entire career.  Read more here

From The Olympian:

Two-time champion Stewart Cink moved into position for a third RBC Heritage title, shooting a second straight 63 to set the 36-hole scoring mark at Harbour Town.

Cink, 47, appears unstoppable after two amazing days. He sits at 16-under 126, five shots ahead of Corey Conners. The previous best midway score was 129, set by Jack Nicklaus en route to victory in 1975 and matched by Phil Mickelson, who wound up third in 2002.  Read more

From The Straits Times:

Veteran Stewart Cink kept the accelerator down at the RBC Heritage on Friday (April 16), firing a second straight 63 to take a five-shot lead after the second round.

Cink, 47, is a two-time winner of the tournament at Harbour Town Golf Links, but his back-to-back rounds of eight-under are his best ever at the Hilton Head Island, South Carolina course, where his 16-under total put him five in front of Canadian Corey Conners.

Argentina's Emiliano Grillo was alone in third after a 64 for 10-under 132.  Read more
