Scott, Briese triumph in Central Queensland Junior Open

Winners galore at the Central Queensland Junior Open.
CAPRICORN Resort’s Ben Scott and Charlotte Briese of Middlemount Golf Club have taken out the three-day Shanahan Swaffield Partners Central Queensland Junior Open in the boys and girls events respectively.

Scott fired rounds of 76-70-72 for a 218 total to finish two shots clear of Blackwater Golf Club’s Brock Olive (73-73-74).

In the A grade junior girls, Briese carded round of 82-85-82 – 249 to win from Aliana Manderson (Rockhampton Golf Club).

Other division winners: B grade boys – Tim Hermann (Mackay) defeated Yepoon’s Cruz Warner after a two-hole playoff.

C grade boys, Riley Jensen (Yeppoon); B grade girls, Lexy Olive (Blackwater); 13-hole boys and girls, Kobe Kirkman (Rockhampton) and Charlize Murphy (Calliope).

Nine-hole boys and girls, Harper Henderson-Feldman (Proserpine) and Shelby Pietzner (Moranbah); six-hole boys and girls, Ashton Jensen (Yeppoon) and Sophie Moffat (Hervey Bay); three-hole boys, Stewart Tobin (Emerald).

The event saw a good number of junior members from other districts tee off in this event with a number taking home Golf Central Queensland titles
