"The Greats Have Arrived" - Monday's Practice Round at the US Open
To step into the world of the arriving players at this year's US Open Championship, the USGA features a slide show of Monday's events. Adam Scott, Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Tiger Woods and many others are here, as well as the crowding golf fans.
There is also a page of the players, with their photographs. Aussies who are competing include Aaron Baddeley, David Bransdon, Jason Day, Lucas Herbert, Matt Jones, Marc Leishman, Adam Scott, Jason Scrivener and Cameron Smith.
The USGA site also features an illustrated timeline of the history of the US Open from 1895 through to 2017, with photos and videos for each event.
This is the fifth year that the US Open has been held at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, N.Y, and the first time back here since 2004. The video at top of page is of the first nine holes along the golf course.
