The Swiss Challenge 2021, Day One, & catching up with Aussie Blake Windred

Swiss Challenge 2021, Golf Saint Apollinaire, Basel, 30 Sept - 3 October

Normally staged inside Swiss borders, now in 2021 the Swiss Challenge is underway just across the French border in Folgensbourg.

23 year old Blake Windred from Newcastle, NSW, is the sole Aussie in this tournament. He has completed his first round 6-under par 66 and is T10.  If he maintains his form through the second round he will be well within the cut.

In the video above, the Challenge Tour through this year is presented.  At 5:10 minutes along, we “Catch up with Blake Windred”.

“Since I’ve been travelling, I feel there’s no place like home.

“I’ve played golf ever since I can remember, actually. I’ve been very lucky that my dad was able to introduce me to the game at a very young age.  As soon as I could walk, really.”

“One thing I do miss is a few of the local coffee shops, where I could just catch up with some of the boys."
