Tiger Woods Will be at The Open 2018

Tiger Woods has confirmed he will attend the 2018 Open at Carnoustie.

Woods has taken home the Claret Jug three times. He has won twice at St Andrews, in 2000 and in 2005, and once at Royal Liverpool, in 2006.  2018 marks his 20th attendance at The Open.

The Open was last hosted by Carnoustie in 2007 when it was won by Ireland's Padraig Harrington. Harrington won again the following year at the Royal Birkdale.

The Open runs from 15th - 22nd July and tickets can be purchased online.

Packages are available via Links Golf St Andrews.  Offers include entry tickets, choice of accommodation, one to seven nights stay options and transport to and from Carnoustie.

Adult ticket holders also have the option of staying at The Open Camping Village for £40.00 a night, while youth ticket holders can camp there for free.

Golf has been played at Carnoustie since the 1500s. It is a very tough course, one of the toughest in the world. It is long and narrow, over 7,400 yards, and the rough is thick and dense. The bunkers are nasty and the coastal winds can be ferocious.

Carnoustie has hosted The Open seven times, from 1931.
