Brooks Koepka injures wrist on course, withdraws from TOUR Championship

Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the TOUR Championship with a left wrist injury.

Koepka was 3 over par on the day and 1 under for the tournament when he withdrew after a par at the 12th hole. Video showed him releasing the club and shaking out his left arm after hitting his tee shot at the par-3 11th hole, and buckling over, his left arm on his leg, after hitting a fairway bunker shot...

He is one of the six players to qualify on points to play on U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Steve Stricker’s team.  Read more

Three weeks before the Ryder Cup, four-time major champion Brooks Koepka withdrew from the Tour Championship after injuring his wrist from hitting a tree root.

Koepka said pulling out on the 13th hole at East Lake on Saturday was a precaution...

Koepka was 16 shots behind when he pushed his tee shot on the 10th hole under a tree. He says he hurt his wrist when the club hit a tree root. He three-putted for bogey, made par on the next two holes and then after getting out of a fairway bunker, hit a wedge well to the right of the 13th green and decided to withdraw.  Read more

Brooks Koepka withdrew from the Tour Championship on Saturday after injuring his left wrist hitting a ball out of the rough, prompting questions about whether the American will be fit enough to compete at the upcoming Ryder Cup.

Koepka injured his wrist on the 10th hole at East Lake when his club hit a tree root on his approach shot. He finished the hole and the next two before withdrawing with a score of one-under for the season-ending tournament, placing him well out of contention...

Koepka, a former world number one with four major titles but who has suffered a series of knee injuries, had already qualified for the U.S. team for the Ryder Cup, which begins on Sept. 24 at Whistling Straits.  Read more
