The eagle putts looked familiar for a Saturday at Torrey Pines in June, even with Tiger Woods nowhere in sight.
Mackenzie Hughes watched his 60-foot eagle putt from the back of the green to the front on the par-5 13th slide into the cup. Louis Oosthuizen could only hope his 50-foot eagle putt on the 18th found the center of the cup, and it kissed off the pin and disappeared.
Woods made eagle putts from one end of the green to the other on the 13th and 18th holes in 2008 that set the stage for a Sunday filled with anticipation.

Moving Day at the 2021 U.S. Open lived up to its name as the leaderboard after Saturday's third round includes 13 golfers within four strokes of the lead. Featured among them are some of the biggest names in the sport.
However, it's Mackenzie Hughes, Louis Oosthuizen and Russell Henley who share the 54-hole lead at 5 under for the championship with Hughes going low for the second day in a row while Oosthuizen and Henley held pace. The lead got to 6 under a few times with Henley, but a bogey every couple of holes kept him from running away from the chase pack. Read more

Rory McIlroy and defending champion Bryson DeChambeau charged up the leaderboard at the US Open to set up an epic final round showdown after a scintillating moving day at Torrey Pines.
American journeyman Russell Henley maintained his overnight co-lead with a consistent even-par 71 to remain on five-under overall, but South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen and Canada’s Mackenzie Hughes joined him with a share of the lead after rounds of 70 and 68 respectively.
