US Open Championship 2018, June 14 - 17

US Open Championship 2018, June 14 - 17.  Adam Scott Qualifies.

Australian professional golfer Adam Scott now qualifies for US Open, which gets underway next week. Scott has attended every major championship since the British Open in 2001 and he is second in the world for competing in the most consecutive majors. Scott has attended 67, Sergio Garcia, 75.

A month ago, with the 2018 US Open fast approaching, Scott had fallen to world No. 71 after having no win in the last two years and no top ten placing in the last twelve months. Until now he had never had to struggle to obtain exemptions into the four big tournaments. During his career he has had thirteen US PGA Tour wins, including the 2013 Masters.

At the outset of the Memorial Scott had risen to world No. 65. He rose a point through the competition but was still outside of those who qualify.  He opted for sectional qualifying. He shot rounds of 66 and 72 when grouped with two amateurs and has secured his place in the field.

"I am pumped. It has been an epic day," he said. "I haven't played one of these in a long time but I really did enjoy playing today."
