AUSTIN, Texas – And then there were four.
Two former champions, a local favorite seeking redemption and a wildcard chasing a Presidents Cup berth have surged into the final four of the World Golf Championships–Dell Technologies Match Play at Austin Country Club.
Dustin Johnson, the 2017 champion, will meet former University of Texas star and last year’s runner-up Scottie Scheffler in one Semifinal on Sunday while 2019 champion (and 2018 runner-up) Kevin Kisner continued his stellar play at Austin CC to set up a date against Canada’s Corey Conners in the other. It makes sense to acknowledge that Kisner is a match play artist.
It was all there on a windy Saturday that started with Kisner falling 3 down to Adam Scott with four holes to play in the Sweet 16.
“It's not looking good. But I don't ever give up,” Kisner said in a matter-of-fact tone that’s become his trademark.
Kisner birdied the 15th hole, holed out for eagle from a greenside bunker at No. 16 and won the match with a 7-footer for birdie at No. 18. Read more

Like Johnson, Kisner is a past Match Play champion, having won in 2019 after losing the 2018 final. On Saturday, he beat Australia's Adam Scott 1 up and Will Zalatoris 4 and 3.
Scott led Kisner for most of the morning and was 3 up through 14 before Kisner got hot, finishing birdie-eagle-par-birdie to win four straight holes and earn a come-from-behind victory.
The eagle came at No.16, when he holed out from a greenside bunker to beat Scott's birdie. Read more
