Daniel Brown wins World Invitational 2023

Daniel Brown claimed his maiden DP World Tour victory in just his 20th start as he held his nerve for a five-shot win at the ISPS HANDA World Invitational presented by AVIV Clinics.
The Englishman had been top of the leaderboard since carding an opening 64 and entered the final day with a six-shot lead, although he did not have it all his own way at Galgorm Castle.
He saw his advantage trimmed to two on the back nine but closed out victory with a 69 that saw him finish at 15 under ahead of Alex Fitzpatrick, who carded a finishing 68.
It has been a long road to the winner's circle for Brown. Read more

England's Daniel Brown claimed his first DP World Tour title with a wire-to-wire victory in the ISPS Handa World Invitational at Galgorm Castle.
Brown carded a closing 69 at the County Antrim track to finish 15 under par, five shots clear of compatriot Alex Fitzpatrick.
The 28-year-old took a six-shot lead into the final round but quickly saw that cut in half as he bogeyed the opening hole and Fitzpatrick birdied the first and second. Read more

The Englishman, who made his Tour debut at the 2015 KLM Open, did not return to the DP World Tour for seven years, playing on the EuroPro Tour and European Challenge Tour in the meantime. Read more

Brown may not be as well known as the American author who he shares a name with, but his triumph makes a decent story after he claimed the first prize of €234,297.57 in his rookie season. Brown, 28, led from start to finish in Ireland but had to survive a final day wobble as he made three successive bogeys with Fitzpatrick on tail before rallying to finish with a 69 for a 15-under total.
