Day Three: Daniel Brown maintains his six shot lead, entering final round

Daniel Brown will take a six-shot lead into the final round of the ISPS HANDA World Invitational presented by AVIV Clinics as he goes in search of a life-changing first DP World Tour victory.

The rookie made his first appearance at the 2015 KLM Open but had to wait seven years and two months for a second start after coming through Qualifying School courtesy of six rounds in the 60s at the Final Stage.

His 67 in round three was his 11th consecutive sub-70 effort and moved him to 14 under with a commanding advantage over fellow Englishman Alex Fitzpatrick - who also signed for a 67 - and South African Wilco Nienaber, who carded a brilliant 63 in testing conditions.  Read more

BALLYMENA, Northern Ireland -- English golfers Daniel Brown and Gabriella Cowley will take leads into the final round of the ISPS Handa World Invitational, which is co-sanctioned by the European tour and LPGA Tour.

Brown started the third round with a 6-shot lead Saturday and maintained that advantage after making birdie on two of his last three holes for a 3-under 67. His nearest challengers are Alex Fitzpatrick (67) and Wilco Nienaber (63), with Adrian Otageui (66) a stroke further back.  Read more

England's Daniel Brown maintained his six-shot lead after 54 holes of the men’s ISPS Handa World Invitational in Antrim to put himself on the brink of a maiden DP World Tour victory.

Brown is playing his rookie season on the top-tier circuit at the age of 28 after spending his first years as a professional cutting his teeth on the satellite EuroPro Tour and second-tier Challenge Tour.

The world number 384 has enjoyed a successful debut campaign, making his first 13 cuts and achieving three top 10 but if he can convert the biggest 54-hole lead of the season into a win on day four, he will have his first victory in the paid ranks.  Read more
