Alexa Pano wins the World Invitational after playoff, on her 19th birthday!

It was a birthday to remember for Alexa Pano as she won the ISPS HANDA World Invitational Presented by AVIV Clinics in a dramatic playoff.
After rounds of 76-70-69-66, Pano ended the tournament with a total of eight-under-par and found herself in a playoff alongside Germany’s Esther Henseleit and England’s Gabriella Cowley.
The American, who turns 19 today, headed back down 18 and made a birdie on the first playoff hole, as did Cowley to send them back to the tee. Read more

A new star shone brightly, as tour rookie Alexa Pano – on her 19th birthday – showed maturity and fortitude beyond her years to secure a breakthrough win on the LPGA Tour when securing the ISPS Handa World Invitational at Galgorm Castle Golf Club.
Pano, a onetime child reality television star when she featured in the 2013 Netflix documentary film The Short Game, again demonstrated the X-factor when beating off Gabriella Cowley and Esther Henseleit in a playoff.
In producing a superb final round 66 for an eight-under-par total of 281 to join the German and the Englishwoman in the playoff. Read more

Pano looked set to win in regulation after birdieing the 17th and 18th to card a six-under-66 but was then joined in the clubhouse on eight under by Germany's Esther Henseleit before England's third-round leader Gabriella Cowley made it a three-woman play-off by sensationally rolling in a 30-foot eagle putt at the last.
After Henseleit dropped out of the play-off following the first tie hole, London-born Cowley, 27, looked set to land a career-changing first victory as she had a three-footer to win at the next but missed with a nervy effort. Read more
