Day Two:  Marissa Steen (US) leading at tournament halfway mark

Marissa Steen produced a round of 72 (-1) to put herself in pole position at the top of the leaderboard at the ISPS HANDA World Invitational Presented by AVIV Clinics.

The American began the day on two-under-par, which she carded at Galgorm, and headed to the Links of Castlerock.

Being in the first group out, Steen got the best of the conditions on what turned out to be a very gusty and damp day.

The 33-year-old made two bogeys and three birdies for her round of 72 and moved to the top of the leaderboard with a total of three-under-par.  Read more

After starting strong with a solid 2-under 70 on Thursday at Galgorm Castle Golf Club, West Chester, Ohio native Marissa Steen carded a 1-under 72 at Castlerock Golf Club on Friday to sit near the top of the leaderboard heading into the weekend at the ISPS Handa World Invitational presented by AVIV Clinics. She began the day with five straight pars before breaking through with a birdie on the par-4 6th hole, parring 7, 8 and 9 to turn in 35.   Read more

BALLYMENA, Northern Ireland -- American player Marissa Steen scored 1-under 72 to take a 1-shot lead at the halfway stage of the ISPS Handa World Invitational on the LPGA Tour on Friday.

Steen started what was a very gusty day at 2 under, made two bogeys and three birdies for her round of 72, and moved to the top of the leaderboard with a total of 3 under, ahead of Germany's Esther Henseleit who shot a 71 at Castlerock.  Read more

Marissa Steen carded a 1-under-par 72 on Friday to seize a one-stroke lead after the second round at the ISPS Handa World Invitational in Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Playing the par-73 Castlerock Golf Club, Steen collected three birdies against two bogeys to move to 3-under for the tournament. She highlighted her round by making a 50-foot putt for birdie.   Read more

For the first two rounds, all players will play one round at Galgorm and one round at Castlerock Golf Club. The men and women will play in separate alternating groups on both courses.

In rounds three and four, the men and women will again play in separate alternating groups in score order (within the separate tournaments) at Galgorm only.

This week there are two cuts with the first being to the top 60 professionals and ties after 36 holes, and another cut to the top 35 players and ties after 54 holes.  Read more
