From ESPN, by AP:

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Joohyung "Tom" Kim began the Wyndham Championship with a quadruple bogey on his first hole and wasn't the least bit bothered. The kid seems to be going places in a hurry.

Already assured a PGA Tour card for next season, Kim overcame his rough start with a 6-under 64 on Friday that gave him a share of the lead with Brandon Wu and Ryan Moore in the final PGA Tour event of the regular season.

Kim, a 20-year-old South Korean, has to win at Sedgefield Country Club to qualify for the FedEx Cup playoffs because he will not be considered a PGA Tour member until September when the new season starts. Only a victory gives him instant membership.  Read more

From CBS Sports, by Patrick McDonald:

The playoff race continues to heat up with only 36 holes remaining in the PGA Tour regular season.

The leaderboard has tightened heading into the weekend at the 2022 Wyndham Championship. With John Huh and Sungjae Im both unable to parlay Thursday's success into Friday, those off in the early hours of the second round at Sedgefield Country Club now find their names at the top of the leaderboard.

PGA Tour rookie Brandon Wu is tied with Tom Kim and Ryan Moore at 9 under. The three could not be more different, as Kim was given a special temporary exemption just two weeks ago.  Read more

From The New Daily.au:

Australia’s Brett Drewitt has gone from little-known PGA Tour underdog to contender with surgically precise rounds that have placed him three strokes off the lead in the final event of the season.

Having missed the cut in his last six tournaments, 31-year-old Drewitt surged up the leaderboard at the Wyndham Championship in North Carolina after rounds of 67 67. Read more

From YardBarker:

A 90-minute weather delay late in the afternoon interrupted the proceedings.

All but four players managed to complete their rounds, though notables Webb Simpson and Kevin Kisner withdrew during the suspension of play, as they were unlikely to rally and make the projected cut of 2 under.

Moore shot a 66 and Wu signed for a 67 Friday to join Kim at 9 under through two rounds.  Read more
